Tank upgrades

Was having a hard time keeping tank temp steady, and read this forum article about a do-it-yourself lid.

I had aluminum foil and gaff tape so all I needed was a piece of vinyl. And while perusing homedepot.ca for vinyl sheets, or some other material to use, found something called Reflectix bubble wrap, Decided to try it and so far it’s working very well.

I used the idea from the article about using duct tape around the edges to form a sort of flap. It’ s not completely airtight but is doing a great job of keeping the heat in and the temperature steady. I also put a sheet on the left panel, which faces the balcony door/window and is likely to be the ‘cold’ side during winter.
